Tasting Whisky and Brandy ─ Burning moment

My father taught me how to taste liquor last night.
Actually,I usually drink umeshu, cocktail and wine.
At first,I regarded the worst one as the best just because it tasted not that strong.
(I have to confess that I am really an amateur.)
However,I changed my mind after dinner.
KAVALAN Single Malt Whisky is really the best.

It is the strongest one of all when you take first sip.
Maybe the reason is it has the highest alcoholic content.(56.3% vol)
However, its after taste is smooth and aromatic(though it is made with wheat).

Jarnac France Courvoisier VSOP Cognac
It is not as strong as the others.(40% vol)
In my opinion,it tastes like some kind of ointments.

I could only sip a little bit at one time.
The path which it flowed through was on fire.
If I retained it in my throat,it would burn it up.
I looked up some comments about this whisky
but I totally did not taste the flavors of coffe,raisin and walnut.
As an amateur,whisky tasted just like whisky.
